Search-Inside

Starting in April 2024, BioRecommender introduces the capability to perform in-depth searches within scientific papers. This enhancement is especially beneficial when you have a specific concept or institution in mind, allowing for seamless exploration of related documents.

Practical Scenario: Visiting Sapienza University of Rome
Imagine you're planning a visit to Sapienza University of Rome to promote Luminex kits. Traditionally, you might begin with a time-consuming process involving PubMed, various websites, and your CRM system, easily taking up 20 minutes or more of your time.
Streamlining Your Search with BioRecommender:
1. Institute Selection: Open BioRecommender, navigate to the 'Institute' section, and start typing "Sapienza". From the dropdown, select "Sapienza University of Rome".
2. Year Filter: Within the 'Institution Works' section, which displays all works associated with the institute, adjust the year filter to 2023, updating the default year from 2022.
3. Keyword Search: In the text search field (highlighted with a red square in the accompanying image), type "Luminex". This action filters the documents to those mentioning Luminex within the selected institution and timeframe.

By leveraging BioRecommender's advanced search capabilities, you can significantly reduce the time and effort required to identify relevant research and potential contacts at Sapienza University of Rome. With BioRecommender's search functionality, after applying your specific criteria such as the institution ("Sapienza University of Rome"), the year (2023), and the keyword ("Luminex"), you've efficiently narrowed down the list to individuals associated with papers that mention "Luminex".
This targeted approach enables you to generate a report that encapsulates all the relevant contacts by using the designated orange button located at the bottom right corner of the interface.

Understanding the Global List of Contacts:
You might notice that the report includes individuals from various countries, such as the USA or Belgium. This global inclusion occurs because these individuals have contributed as authors or co-authors to the relevant papers. In academic publishing, the contribution of each author can be significant, regardless of their order in the author list. However, BioRecommender provides clear visibility on the "first author," who typically has made the most significant contribution to the work or played a leading role in the project.

While the system currently does not differentiate beyond the "first author" position, this comprehensive approach still offers a robust starting point for identifying key individuals involved in research related to your products. It's a testament to the platform's capability to streamline what would traditionally be a time-consuming research process, making it not only efficient but also far-reaching in scope.
By the way, in the Author section it is possible to list only scientific papers where the selected author is the first author.
